Briana Lys is an activist by purpose, an advocate and ally by decision, and an artist by expression. Born in the pacific northwest, raised in the northeast, and now residing in the southwest, Briana is driven to highlight and celebrate the rich diversity that is the human condition.
Theater will remain Briana’s first love, however moving to the desert has led to a more active career in film with, in addition to acting, experience in directing, methods coaching, and education consulting. Always looking to hone her craft Briana is Meisner trained and works with Faith Hibbs-Clarke training in the Communication Method. Briana is an award winning actor, winning best actress in a dramatic short, with experience ranging from shorts to feature length projects, including Whitney in Dark Descent, Jo in Mom’s Favorite, Wendy in Personal Pandemic, and many others.
Off set, Briana seamlessly glides between continued education of national and global social injustices, working as an advisor for a social justice leadership program for high school students, falling in love with endurance sports, and becoming an avid climber. Currently in school for Applied Psychology, her aim is to create and participate in spaces that push for accurate representation and encourage freedom of expression for under- and misrepresented demographics. Founder and member of her hometown’s Equal Rights Group, Briana's unwavering desire to be part of creating a world where all humans can live fully and authentically is the drive behind her life, art, actions, and performance.
